Domaille Engineering announces the new ABRASAVE™ optical fiber polishing fixture line

Rochester, MN, January 18, 2009 – Domaille Engineering LLC, a worldwide provider of precision engineering and manufacturing services to technology industries and a leading manufacturer of optical fiber polishing equipment, is proud to introduce the revolutionary new ABRASAVE™ optical fiber polishing fixture line.

Current optical fiber fixture designs place all the optical fibers on same diametrical path during the polishing process. According to Donald Hickerson, Vice President of Business Development, “This repetitive path causes premature wear of the abrasive film and is consistent with many different brands of optical fiber polishing machines that our team reviewed.”

The Domaille engineering group worked on a series of complex mathematical formulas designed to give each individual optical fiber its own path across the abrasive film. This led to the creation of the patent pending Unique Path Technology which is designed to achieve up to a 50% reduction in polishing time while also extending the life of polishing film media by up to 100%.

This technology is being marketed as the ABRASAVE™ fixture line and can be applied to both angled and straight optical fiber connectors and will work with existing Domaille Engineering polishing machines or other brands that use square type fixtures.
