The history of Domaille Engineering is the prototypical version of the American dream.Domaille Engineering was founded in 1990 by Nancy and Mike Domaille. Mike was working for an organization that specialized in ultra precision machining, while Nancy was developing new business for IBM.Together, they started the company to address the need for designing and manufacturing ultra precision, close tolerance gages and tools across multiple industries including telecommunications, medical and general industry.This core culture for precision contract manufacturing and innovative engineering solutions is still the backbone of our success.
One of the early projects for the Domaille’s was a series of ultra precision tools for Corning.These molds had tolerances of +/-.000002, roughly equal to 1/100 of a red blood cell.The Domaille’s innovative methods for manufacturing and measuring these tools opened up new business opportunities and increased market share for Corning.The success of these tools and the customer, along with the growing telecommunications market led the Domaille’s to engineer a highly accurate method for holding and polishing fiber optics. In 1996, the company introduced the Domaille brand fiber optic polishing machine and polishing fixtures.The Domaille solution, made with the same ultra precision manufacturing methods, rapidly emerged as a global leader for polishing fiber optic connectors.
Along with the product line, Domaille Engineering has also continued to grow our contract manufacturing business.The same core competencies of creative engineering solutions and precision manufacturing have helped other companies grow their market share.From the humble beginnings, the Domaille Engineering current customer list now contains ten Fortune 500 companies.We are never sure what the future will bring, but for Domaille Engineering we know it will always be based around creative engineering and precision manufacturing solutions.
